‘Can’t see the forest for the trees’ reminds us how easy it is to become stressed when we lose sight of the bigger picture and get lost in the details of our lives.

A 1-to-1 mindful writing session is perfect for getting back on track. You’ll indulge in calming 'me' time as you reveal the root of what’s keeping you stuck so you can move forward.

This is exactly why I designed Forest for the Trees. I respect your desire to take control of your life and honour your right to do that privately.

After experiencing a trees&breathe group workshop or completing Write To The Root, elevate your wellness journey with a 1-to-1 session to delve deeper into your exploration. If you’re new to trees&breathe, embark on a 1-to-1 session, where you'll harness the profound calming and clarifying power of mindful writing.

What does a 1-to-1 mindful writing session look like?

With just a bit of information from you, I will design a 50 minute mindful writing session to put you on a path to enhanced clarity and well-being.

Your well-being is my priority during every 1-to-1 session (and all of my workshops). No matter what your experience with mindful writing is, I will guide you to a calm state where you can safely and privately explore your true thoughts.

Although I usually offer 1-to-1 sessions online, we can meet in person if you prefer. You can choose what’s best for you when you book a session.

Each 1-to-1 mindful writing session is 50 minutes and includes the following:

  • A private and supportive environment

  • 5 minutes of “the basics” (reviewing the writing strategy)

  • 40 minutes of guided mindful writing

  • 5 minutes of relaxation exercises

  • 10 minutes of sharing (optional)

  • Session recording (optional)

  • Receipt for insurance (optional)

FAQs 1-to-1 Sessions

  • You can book one session at a time and repeat as much as you would like.

  • You can pay by credit card or e-transfer. To complete your booking for a session, you will be prompted to pay by credit card or Paypal. Please send me an email if you prefer to pay by e-transfer.

  • As long as you give 48 hours notice, you can get a refund or reschedule your appointment.

  • If you have benefits or insurance coverage, Registered Social Workers (RSW) are frequently covered. Check with your insurance provider to find out the details of your coverage. I will be happy to provide you with a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

  • All aspects of your involvement with trees&breathe will be held in utmost confidence in accordance with the ethical guidelines and standards of practice set out by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Your personally identifiable information is not discussed or disclosed, directly or indirectly, without your prior consent.

    There are a few situations in which I am legally obliged to break confidentiality in order to protect your safety or another individual's. These include:

    • Risk of harm to self or another person

    • Suspected child abuse or neglect for a minor under the age of 16

    • A legal subpoena of records regarding an incident (if possible, I will contact you before releasing any information).

  • As per the trees&breathe disclaimer (found in the website footer), all mindful writing workshops are designed for self-care purposes and are not a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Individual experiences and results may vary. Participants are encouraged to seek professional advice for any health-related issues and to take personal responsibility for their well-being during and after the workshops.

  • This is completely your choice!

  • I include an option for “sharing” time after each session to answer your questions. However, that’s entirely up to you.

  • (Online only) At your request, I will record the session and send it to you for your review or re-do as many times as you want.

  • Absolutely! Instead of meeting, I can send you a recorded session designed just for you. Your choice!
