
Who I Am
I designed trees&breathe therapeutic writing workshops to offer you a unique path to clarity. Through nature-inspired mindfulness and effective writing techniques, these workshops help you uncover the truths of your thoughts, opening the door to a clearer mind, stronger decisions, and a deeper sense of well-being.
Born in the summer of 2020, trees&breathe blends nature’s calming power, mindfulness practices, therapeutic strategies, and the transformative impact of writing. With degrees in Social Work and Applied Language Studies (Writing), plus certifications in yoga and forest bathing, I created this multi-layered approach to therapeutic writing to foster self-discovery and emotional clarity.
With 25 years as a social worker and 10 as a university writing instructor, I have been passionate about guiding others in clarifying their thoughts through writing. My goal at trees&breathe is to help you slow down, listen inward, and discover what’s ready to be seen.

1. Writing methods that provide a safe space to dig into your thoughts and privately release them on paper. As you experience the powerful relationship between writing and thinking, you discover what you really need to know and start seeing your life through a clearer mind.
2. Mindfulness tools to help you stay focused on the present - what is happening right now - without judgment or analysis. This releases the need to worry about the past or the future and creates an opening for peace and truth to emerge.
3. Nature prompts to ease you into a calm state and gain a sense of perspective and strength. This can help to view your life situations in a more manageable way.

I use writing strategies grounded in Psychological Science to encourage mental clarity. Some of these strategies include expressive writing and freewriting. Often considered medicine for the mind and body, writing can:
